Sacramento Solidarity! is a publication intended to uplift and spread the efforts, needs, conversations, and happenings of the people of the Sacramento area so that we are more connected to, interested in, and understanding of each other.
Especially considering the limits of connecting and spreading or receiving information through social media and/ or mainstream media alone, this publication is intended to be one contribution toward building a more robust local infrastructure for the sharing of information, ideas, art, and inspiration.
This publication intends to orient itself around and toward love and solidarity, love and solidarity that take seriously the protecting and nurturing of life and our collective humanity. Therefore, this publication also supports the abolition of systems which threaten life and humanity. If these central values resonate with you, we welcome you as a participant of this publication — whether as a reader, contributor, translator, supporter, constructive critic <3, or any combination of these roles.
Our hope is that this publication further connects us all as neighbors beyond our current groups and spheres so that we can all learn together, build together, and care for each other in more coordinated ways.
Each issue will include a few short writing and art pieces about a variety of topics may even reflect conflicting opinions and approaches. Also included will be an abridged calendar of some upcoming local events.
Sacramento Solidarity! is currently open to submissions for our very first issue. Have a poem, drawing, analysis, reflection, calendar item, or anything else you’d like to offer to share with neighbors through Sacramento Solidarity! ? Send it along to sacramentosolidarity@proton.me. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis. Please also include what name or pen name you would like the piece to be attributed to.
Print editions will be available widely out in public spaces, online here at sacramentosolidarity.noblogs.org, or through subscription by emailing us a good mailing address.
Please also email with questions, comments, and requests — including ideas for how to make Sacramento Solidarity! most accessible, inclusive, and useful.
Lastly, we are not yet set up to receive financial support for printing and mailing costs. Stay tuned for how to support if you are able to! But for now, send your optional donation along to your local mutual aid organization or bail fund. Sacramento Solidarity! is a free publication.
Looking forward to creating Sacramento Solidarity! together.
